Patient Profile
Overview
The Patient Profile in viggoVet provides a comprehensive medical history and essential details about each animal in your care. It includes color-coded records, customizable patient temperament indicators, and dynamic filtering to streamline workflow and patient management.
Each section is role-based, ensuring that staff see only the relevant data based on their permissions.
To access the Patient Profile, navigate to
- From sidebar Patients or direct link 🔗 https://{your-clinic-slug}.viggo.vet/patients/
- From sidebar Clients then search for the related client then choose from Patient list.
- From the top Global Search icon on top of the navigation bar.
1. Sidebar & Quick Patient Details
The left sidebar provides quick information about the patient:
- Profile Photo & Temperament Emoji – Changeable by clinic staff to indicate temperament.
- Patient ID & Name – Unique identifier for easy tracking.
- Species, Sex, Breed, Color, Date of Birth, and Microchip ID.
- Medical Alerts & Diet Restrictions – Critical notes appear in an Alert Box on the top right.
- Latest Vitals – Displayed for quick reference, with a View All button for full history.
- Latest Visit Details – Includes reason, time, and status of the last appointment.
- Owner Information – Shows client contact details and location.
2. Top Navigation Tabs
The navigation tabs allow staff to access specific patient details efficiently:
- Overview – Displays all medical records sorted by date (default view).
- Appointments – Shows past and upcoming bookings.
- Owners – Lists all associated owners for multi-owner pets.
- Reminders – Tracks scheduled follow-ups, vaccinations, and medical alerts.
- Vitals – Displays a curve graph to visualize trends over time.
- Notes – Internal use only (not included in printed records).
- Invoices – Lists all billing records related to the patient.
- Documents & Attachments – Upload and store images, reports, or legal documents.
- Labs – Provides access to lab results for diagnostic tracking.
3. Medical Records Overview
Medical records are color-coded by category for quick identification:

To review a specific category:
- Use the tab filters to display only relevant medical records.
- Use the date filter to narrow down historical records.
Quick Access to Medical Notes
- Click the small document icon on a green Medical Note row for a quick pop-up review.
- Click on the Medical Notes tab for full record review or modification.
4. Alerts & Critical Information
The top-right alert box provides essential patient warnings:
- Medical Alerts (e.g., Allergies, Chronic Conditions).
- Dietary Restrictions.
These alerts are permanent and visible across all pages when viewing the patient.
5. Creating New Medical Records
To add a new record:
- Click Create New Record (top right button).
- Choose the type of medical entry (Prescription, Lab, Surgery, etc.).
- Fill in the necessary details and save.
Efficient Patient Management
- Color-coded records for quickly identify important details.
- Leverage the Vitals Graph to track trends over time.
- Use the Alert Box to ensure all staff are aware of critical conditions.
- Filter records by date to find historical information easily.
- Utilize the quick medical note pop-up for a fast review without navigating away.
