Patient Reminders

Overview

The Reminders section in the Patient profile helps clinics track scheduled follow-ups, vaccinations, and important medical alerts. This feature ensures timely care for patients while keeping pet owners informed about necessary treatments and check-ups.

Reminders are automatically generated based on medical records or manually added by staff to ensure critical follow-ups are not missed.


Accessing the Reminders Section

To view or manage patient reminders:

  1. From the Patient Profile: Navigate to the Reminders tab in the top navigation menu.
  2. From Global Search: Use the search bar at the top of the screen and select the relevant patient, then go to the Reminders tab.
  3. Direct URL: Visit the Reminders page using a direct link:🔗 https://{your-clinic-slug}.viggo.vet/patients/{patient-ID}/reminders/

Key Features

1. Reminder Overview

The Reminders section displays:

  • Upcoming Reminders – Scheduled alerts for upcoming treatments, vaccinations, or check-ups.
  • Past Reminders – A log of completed reminders for historical reference.
  • Reminder Status – Each entry is marked as Pending, Completed, or Overdue.

2. Creating a New Reminder

To add a new reminder:

  1. Click Create New Reminder (top-right button).
  2. Enter the reminder details:
    • Date & Time
    • Reminder Type (Vaccination, Follow-up, Medication, etc.)
    • Assigned Veterinarian or Staff Member
    • Additional Notes
  3. Click Save to confirm the reminder.

The reminder will be linked to the patient’s record and appear in the scheduled list.


3. Managing Existing Reminders

Users can:

  • Edit Reminders – Adjust date, time, or details as needed.
  • Delete Reminders – Remove unnecessary or outdated reminders.
  • Send Reminder Notifications – Notify pet owners about upcoming appointments or treatments.

4. Filtering & Sorting Reminders

To improve efficiency, users can:

  • Filter by Date: Display only upcoming, past, or overdue reminders.
  • Sort by Type: View reminders based on treatment categories.
  • Search by Staff or Veterinarian: Identify reminders assigned to specific team members.

Alerts & Notifications

  • Overdue Reminders appear as alerts on the patient profile.
  • Upcoming Reminders are visible in the clinic’s dashboard.
  • Automated Notifications can be sent to clients via email or SMS.

Best Practices for Reminder Management

  • Use the status labels to track pending, completed, and overdue reminders.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups by reviewing upcoming reminders regularly.
  • Keep detailed notes to provide clear instructions for staff and clients.
  • Utilize the search and filter options to streamline daily workflows.
